For disabling headaches that medication, Botox® and other procedures have not solved, there is another option.
Severe headaches can force bed rest, emergency room visits and hospitalisation, and steal months of every year. Many patients arrive after years of abortive and preventive medications, Botox® injections or nerve stimulation without lasting resolution.
Skeptical patients and those with severe, resistant cases are preferred for treatment. It is your right to be skeptical after so many attempts and promises.
A short consultation is the first step. We review your history, current medication and any prior imaging before recommending treatment.
Medical research suggests that in most headache sufferers, pain originates not in the brain but in structures outside the skull, in the territory of the sensory organs. These structures are easy to access for both diagnosis and treatment.
Each headache is different and has a cause that must be identified before treatment begins. The clinic uses specific diagnostic methods to pinpoint the structures and processes involved.

Treatment targets the trigeminal and occipital nerve branches simultaneously in one outpatient session, with no surgery, no Botox® and no downtime. Most patients return to their daily activities the same day.
If triggers are noticed within 72 hours, a follow-up session is provided, and all follow-ups are free for ten years.
Botox® addresses migraine symptoms by paralysing nerve endings. It typically works for a few months, and symptoms can return with greater severity. Dr. Owiesy's approach aims to address the cause of migraine rather than temporarily block symptoms.
The amount of each medication used is the minimum effective dose recommended by the FDA for every component, so adverse reactions are not expected. Patients allergic to any component are excluded unless desensitised.
Most patients (95%) have relief with the first treatment. Around 5% may feel atypical pain in the same or another area because nerve anatomy varies. These patients receive a second session for the remaining nerve branches only, at no charge.
Some people with 30 to 60 years of migraine history may experience a mild 'phantom' headache after treatment, which typically responds easily to ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Touch-up treatments are free for ten years.
