A lifetime of training across continents
Faro T. Owiesy, MD, has been practising medicine for 41 years. He is a multi-specialty and internationally trained physician.
Dr. Owiesy is Board Certified in Urgent Care Medicine. His recent US training includes Family Practice at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB). He completed his fellowship in Children and Adult Burn and Reconstructive Surgery at UTMB-Galveston and Shriners Burn Hospital for Children in Galveston, Texas, and a Neurology fellowship in Houston, Texas.
He completed his medical training and residencies in General Surgery, Traumatology, Vascular Surgery, War Injuries and Plastic Reconstructive Surgery in Iran and Germany. His broad experience includes work as a reconstructive microvascular war surgeon, and clinical fellowships in Esthetic Plastic Surgery in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Research that shaped the treatment
Dr. Owiesy is involved in research at several scientific levels, including the treatment of reconstructive burn injuries, migraine headaches for the past 21 years, and ongoing research into Multiple Sclerosis related to Chronic Cerebro-Spinal Venous Insufficiency (CCSVI) and cluster headaches.
