A different view of where headaches begin

Unlike many specialists who believe headache pain originates in the brain and approach pain with drugs, our years of research and treatment support a view of migraine as caused by anatomical structures of the major sensory organs outside the skull, close to the brain. Therefore, migraine is not a lifelong disease.

At the clinic, we go after these painful structures and aim to nearly permanently eliminate the headache pain they cause. We do not prescribe medications for pain relief, prevention or abortion of attacks, so our patients avoid refractory headaches and emergency room visits. Even patients as young as ten tolerate the procedure well.

FURROW and the SENZA-TE algorithm

We discovered and developed the FURROW drug formula using an algorithm called SENZA-TE, based on years of research, experience and a broad neurological understanding. This work unlocked important dynamics of the autonomic nervous system in migraine headaches, so patients do not need alternative drugs or lifestyle modifications.

Headache treatment focused on the sensory organs

Research shows that in most headache sufferers, the pain originates not from the brain but from structures outside the skull in the territory of the sensory organs. These structures are easy to access for both diagnosis and treatment. Our focus is primary migraine, though our approach may also benefit people with secondary migraine headaches.

Our clinical trial on cluster headaches found evidence of a zygomaticotemporal neuroma, or disorganised nerve bundle, as a triggering source of episodic and chronic cluster headaches. Surgical exploration and excision delivered long-term resolution over 370 days and longer. This less invasive, lower-cost approach is now available at our clinic.

Our view on current industry therapies

A review of current treatment drugs suggests the CGRP hypothesis falls short in translational efficacy. In our view, CGRP synthesis is a protective reaction to vasoconstriction and hypoxia in the peripheral nerves, not the cause of migraine. Monoclonal antibodies and receptor blockers have, in our assessment, offered no significant advantage over triptans or NSAIDs.
